I think I have mentioned it MANY, MANY times that I am actually scared of Idiocracy---- if there is such a word, I would define it as a state of getting dumber and dumber *sarcastic laugh*. Nowadays, common sense ain't common at all and I can actually feel the chills in my veins as I actually see myself one of those devolving species but I refuse to admit it. I've been rewinding my memory bank (and I think I'll be constantly doing it before my 18th birthday) *cough*cough* as I saw the signs of it through the television and the newspapers.
Politics seem to be equitable to entertainment as our senators are actually endorsers and commercial models helping those aristocrats sell off their products and gain more money from the sum of purchases by the masses. Everyone is interested on the kind of cars that they have, their mansions, mistresses, gowns, designers and their celebrity girlfriends. We also see some 'criminalities' who were involved in sensitive issues and still get away with it. Who could ever forget the ever-famous 'Garci tapes' that showcased Mr. Virgilio Garcillano and her excellency *sarcasm* Gloria-Macapagal-Arroyo as voice talents huh?+ the 'I am sorry' crap thing. On the midterm elections last May 2007, Virgilio Garcillano even had the gall to run as Representative of the First Congressional District of Bukidnon. The Executive government agency does not stop recruiting from there--- as we watch Ralph Recto---the dashing man with a beautiful mind who proposed EVAT, being appointed as the new chief of NEDA, and Romulo Neri-----the man with two faces, Mr. Half-Lie Half-truth and a so not surrealist, emerge from shutting his mouth about the inconceivable truth into being the new SSS chief and who knows what could happen to former COMELEC chairman Benjamin Abalos? My lament does not end on those situations. I love whining and as a future voter I think we still have a problem minus all the electoral cheatings. During elections, we actually see Manny Pacquiao and Eddie Gil running for crucial positions in the government. Sure, they did not win but they DID QUALIFY that makes me think, "How about alleviating the standards of qualifications on those crucial positions?"
Anyhow, we couldn't care less because most of our leaders are actually "over qualified" or so they think. Most of these leaders actually came from the best schools in and out of our country. They were the classmates of powerful personalities. They have degrees on various courses and was raised by their 'so-called' best families, which in my limited understanding is actually quite relative. They were actually commended for their high intelligence which they use to emphasize isoteric terms for the layman to just clap their hands and nod without understanding at all. Most of them are actually, cum laudes, magna cum laudes and even summa cum laudes. They are so great that they manipulate and covet from the public fund. These people are so smart that even when we are on tight crisis today, they compensate by giving out subsidies---God-knows-until-when and still try to make the public believe that we have a 'STRONG ECONOMY'. You can see them on campains saying that they know how the masses feel as they wear their overly-extravagant clothes with their rolex posing beside farmer to show that 'they care'. These people are asking for your votes to be representatives but they don't really represent the people. They represent their schools, families and corporations. How ironic. I guess we're all fatuous.=P
